As the abusive supervision topic began to attract more and more attention,the number of researches on this topic raised a lot in the past several years.The number of negative influences of abusive supervision toward organizations and subordinates makes it important to study.To check its influence toward the young generation,this study aims to analyze Chinese college students’ reaction toward the abusive supervision,particularly influence of abusive supervision on students’ stress,job satisfaction,and turnover intention.It is argued that a high turnover ratio can lead to a high unemployment ratio.According to it,abusive supervision can be one of the factors leading to the youth unemployment issue in China.It is an empirical study and the data was collected via a survey-experimental approach.The author created a scenario for participants,where they place themselves as subordinate in the story and answer the following questions of abusive supervision,stress,job satisfaction,and turnover intention with the scale ranging from1-6.It is predicted that college students will have a strong reaction toward abusive supervision,and will have a high level of stress,low level of job satisfaction and intention to quit the job.The results show that abusive supervision leads to subordinates’ job dissatisfaction,high level of perceived stress,and their intention to quit the job.According to the current study results,the author supports that abusive supervision can be one of the factors,which leads to the youth unemployment issue in China.Moreover,there were revealed possible reactions of college students toward abusive supervision and their perception of it.Lastly,the author provides a discussion and gives further suggestions for future research studies.
