An Empirical Study On The Influence Of The Education Level Of Municipal Party Secretary On Urban Economy

Does the education level of the secretary of the municipal party committee affect the economic growth of the city,and how much influence does it have? The research on this issue has important reference significance for the selection,training and appointment of city leaders,and is the focus of this article.For the average person,the improvement of education level affects their labor performance and income level through the accumulation of human capital;the municipal party committee secretary,as the city’s highest official,has an impact on all aspects of the city’s education level.This article focuses on the economic impact.To this end,take the cities above the prefecture level in my country as samples and collect relevant data to conduct empirical research on them.First,define the concepts of officials,secretary of the municipal party committee,and educational level,explain the relationship between the personal characteristics of officials and the urban economy,sort out existing research,sort out the theories related to officials and theories about the impact of official characteristics on the city economy,and summarize the various characteristics of officials What kind of impact does it have on the city’s economy?Secondly,establish an index system to measure the educational level of the municipal party committee secretary,collect unbalanced panel data of 275 prefecture-level cities in my country that have not undergone changes in administrative levels from 2002 to 2019,and use the entropy evaluation method to assign values to various indicators of educational level,and evaluate each The educational level of the secretary of the municipal party committee in the year,and the evaluation results are analyzed.In addition,it also analyzes the characteristics of the educational level of city party committee secretaries at different levels.Third,the improved Cobb-Douglas model is used to empirically analyze the overall impact and indirect impact of the municipal party committee secretary’s education level on the city’s economy,and introduce the cross-term between location variables and education level into the model to examine its interactive effects.The results show that the educational level of the secretary of the municipal party committee has a significant positive impact on the urban economy;the disadvantage of location conditions will inhibit the educational level of the secretary of the municipal party committee in the urban economy;the educational level of the secretary of the municipal party committee in the past years will also affect the urban economy of this year;The cross-effects of the educational level of the secretary of the municipal party committee are complex.Finally,the sample cities are classified according to the new city classification and the city’s administrative level,and from the perspective of this city level,the impact of the education level of the municipal party committee secretary on the urban economy is explored.Obtained results: In cities of different levels,the educational level of the municipal party committee secretary has different effects on the urban economy.The higher the level of the city,the more significant the positive impact of the education level of the municipal party committee secretary on the city’s economy.
