Research On Specialty Construction In Higher Vocational Colleges From The Perspective Of Specialty Matching Rate

In order to find higher vocational colleges’ long-term development,specialty construction is the important part of the concentric development of higher vocational colleges.Based on the statistical bulletin of the Development of National Education,China is moving forward from the popularization of higher education to the universalization of higher education,which will give birth to a number of higher vocational colleges.Jiangsu province,compared with the former higher vocational colleges’ enrollment,the present enrollment of higher vocational colleges should be increased.Higher vocational colleges should expand the enrollment of students on a large scale,build a group of high-level specialties,and build characteristic high-level colleges.The demand of the whole society,the promotion of policy and higher vocational colleges’ own needs all put forward a new demand for the specialty construction of higher vocational colleges.However,every year,there would be labor shortage in the economically developed regions.The gap between the output end of colleges and the input end of social demand causes the imbalance between supply and demand.The overall employment rate of higher vocational colleges is very high every year,but the specialty matching rate is low,which leads to the imbalance of specialty structure,and causes the waste of educational resources to some extent.From the perspective of the specialty matching rate,it is very significant to understand the specialty construction’connotation in higher vocational colleges to find the problems and causes of the specialty construction in higher vocational colleges,which is beneficial to the improvement of the specialty matching rate,the enhancement of the professional identity and the improvement of the professional quality.There are six higher vocational colleges in Yangzhou.I choose Y higher vocational college as the research object,mainly based on its comprehensive professional setting,a provincial model higher vocational college and very representative.Research from the perspective of graduates from old and new specialties,school administrators,teachers and managers of university-enterprise cooperation respectively through questionnaire survey and interviews,based on the result of the investigation,we find that in the construction of vocational colleges students’ professional identity isn’t high,specialties’ construction is lack of forward-looking,curriculum and practice training of demand does not match,the practice of objective conditions are difficult to meet the demand of students’ training,major setting and local development of emerging industry adaptation degree is not high.These problems will directly affect the specialty matching rate and the talents’ training quality,thus affecting the supply-demand relationship in the labor market.From the perspective of the specialty matching rate,this paper tries to promote the effective connection between specialties and professions,improve the specialty matching rate,and optimize the specialties’ construction in higher vocational colleges from the aspects of promoting order cultivation,implementing results-oriented education,reasonably setting the proportion and difficulty of courses,and deepening the integration of industry and education.
