Labor education is an extremely important part of China’s overall development of education,which is of great significance to the cultivation of primary and secondary school students’ labor quality.Literature,questionnaire,interview and other research methods were used in this research.On the basis of sorting out the existing research literature,a questionnaire and two interview outlines were developed to investigate some students,parents and teachers of five primary schools in Tianhe District,Guangzhou.The survey found that there are several problems in the labor education of primary school students.At the student level: primary school students lack correct labor concepts.Their labor attitudes are not correct.Most students do not develop good labor habits,and their basic labor skills are relatively weak.At the school level: the school has no clear understanding of the goals of labor education.The school has a single way to implement labor education and the evaluation system is not perfect.At the family labor education level: the parents’ understanding of labor education is not comprehensive.Parents do not clearly understand the purpose of labor education.The guidance of family labor education is deficient.The main reasons for the problems in labor education are as follows: first,parents’ educational ideas are backward and they lack relevant knowledge to carry out labor education.Besides,unscientific method of labor education is another reason.Second,the reasons at the school level are as follows: the school does not pay enough attention to labor education and lacks the overall planning of labor education.In addition,the curriculum resources of labor education are relatively scarce and the organization and guidance ability of teachers’ labor education is insufficient.Moreover,the communication between teachers and parents is insufficient and the home school education cannot be realized.The third is the reason of the students’ level.For example,the students’ enthusiasm in participating in the labor practice is not high and they lack the consciousness of self-improvement.At the same time,the particularity of the physical and mental development of primary school students also affects the improvement of their labor literacy level.In order to promote the better development of the labor education of primary school students,we should emphasize several strategies.For family,parents should renew their educational concepts and fully understand the importance of labor education.And families should have a unified understanding of labor education to jointly create a good family education environment.Besides,parents should study actively to acquire relevant knowledge of family labor education.At the school level,we could do as follows: make clear the goals of labor education and broaden the ways to implement labor education,develop labor curriculum resources,establish and improve the evaluation system of labor education,strengthen the construction of teachers’ team,improve the ability of labor education guidance of teachers,strengthen the cooperative education of home and school,and unite the strength of parents to promote the improvement of students’ labor quality,pay attention to carry out differentiation according to gender differences labor education.Students should take the initiative to improve the consciousness of subject and put the knowledge of labor into practice and improve the skills of labor,and achieve the unity of knowledge and practice.
