Research On The Role Dilemma Of Social Workers In Venture Philanthropy

As a complex social animal,human has been playing a certain role in the society since birth,and the process of growth is also a process of constantly diversified roles.Role dilemmas arise when,for some reason,people find it difficult to fulfill the obligations of their roles.The rapid development of today’s society also puts forward higher requirements for people in various aspects,which to some extent deepens the complexity of people’s roles,and the role dilemma is increasingly prominent in work and life.As an industry of helping people,social workers need to master knowledge of sociology,psychology and other knowledge.In their work,they need to provide counseling,resource links and other services for the clients.The professional comprehensiveness and the diversity of roles put forward higher requirements for social workers,which also easily lead to the role dilemma in various work fields.Venture philanthropy rising in recent years in our country as the government leading,social workers support,social organization to carry out the public welfare project for the new model of social benefit,its itself is a process involving many,long,coupled with the imperfect social workers at the early stage of the industry development in our country,the role of social workers in the predicament is also prominent.Therefore,this paper focuses on the role dilemma faced by social workers in the field of public welfare venture capital.Through the application of literature method,observation method and interview method,the author takes project S in a public welfare venture capital competition of a street in wuhan city as an example for research.This paper first gives a general introduction to project S and analyzes the roles of social workers as advocates,consultants,educators,coordinators,resource linkers,policy influencers and administrators.Then on the basis of this,the author discusses the role dilemma faced by social workers,including the lack of self-understanding and identity,and the ambiguous role with unclear job responsibilities.Overloading of roles that are overburdened and adversely affect life and work;Role conflicts between different roles and the same role;Role distance between lack of professional ability and lack of physical and mental involvement.Then from the micro,medium,macro three levels behind the analysis of the reasons such as the micro professional quality and self-identity is not enough,multiple roles put forward higher requirements for social workers;Lack of professional and psychological support in social work institutions and administrative intervention in communities and streets;Macroscopically,the shortage of professional talents and social cognition.Finally,some Suggestions are put forward,including that social workers should improve their professional quality,self-identity and role consciousness.In the middle,social work organizations should strengthen the professional support and psychological support for employees,and give social workers more independent space in communities and streets.Macroscopically,we should strengthen the construction of talents and industries and the improvement of social awareness.Through this research,the author hopes to provide some useful ideas for overcoming the dilemma of the role of social workers in venture philanthropy,so as to promote the sound development of venture philanthropy.
