With the implementation of the strategy of reinvigorating China through science and education.China’s higher education has developed vigorously.The high-quality development of higher education makes scholars pay more and more attention to the input and output efficiency of higher education resources.At present,most domestic and foreign studies on higher education input and output efficiency are limited to the measurement of higher education input and output efficiency results,and there are few studies on the factors affecting efficiency.Therefore,this research attempts to use the configuration of thinking and DEA-Malmquist index analysis method to further analyzes the specific factors affecting this efficiency based on the measure of the efficiency of higher education input and output.First,take the 10-year panel data of 30 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions in my countryas the research object(except Tibet),by selecting input indicators and output indicators,construct the evaluation index system of my country’s higher education input and output efficiency,and then use data envelopment analysis Method(DEA),introducing the Malmquist index to measure the input and output efficiency of my country’s higher education from 2009 to 2018.By analyzing the efficiency of higher education in three different educational resource regions in the east,central and west,the efficiency of my country’s higher education is evaluated Effectiveness;Secondly,based on the theory of production factors,starting from the three dimensions of human factors,environmental factors and capital factors,it summarizes the important factors that affect the efficiency of higher education input and output.Through the analysis of specific factors affecting the efficiency of higher education,the establishment of a driving model for the input and output efficiency of my country’s higher education;finally,the use of the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method(fsQCA)to analyze the input and output efficiency of my country’s higher education and its influencing factors To explore the interaction between them.Specifically,taking higher education input and output efficiency as the outcome variable,taking the human resource advantage and human resource potential,regional education level and regional economic level,funding input and the scale of colleges and universities as proxy indicators of the influencing factors as the antecedent conditions Variables,a configuration analysis of the input and output efficiency of higher education in my country.The results of this research not only identify the core factors that affect the input and output efficiency of higher education,but also find 4paths leading to high higher education efficiency,and combine them Specific cases are analyzed in typical areas.The innovations of this research are mainly reflected in:(1)The DEA-Malmquist index analysis method is used.This study uses DEA-Malmquist index analysis method to measure the input and output efficiency of my country’s higher education,which is different from the traditional DEA evaluation model.The use of a combination of static analysis and dynamic decomposition is more conducive to comprehensive investigation.The dynamic changes of higher education input and output efficiency over the past years.(2)Explore the specific factors that affect the results of higher education input and output efficiency.Based on the analysis of the results of higher education efficiency,this research explores the specific factors that affect the results.Previous studies mostly focused on the results of higher education efficiency.On this basis,this study combined with the analysis of influencing factors to enrich the research directions in the field of higher education.(3)The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis method(fsQCA)is used.Adopting the overall configuration thinking,not only the influencing factors of higher education input and output efficiency are studied,but also the combinatorial relationship between these factors affecting the efficiency of higher education is deeply analyzed,free from the limitation of quantitative research.The results of this study show that although the input and output efficiency of my country’s higher education has increased rapidly,the development is unstable and unbalanced.In order to ensure the continuous,stable and balanced growth of my country’s higher education input and output efficiency,combined with the conclusions drawn from empirical analysis and research,this study puts forward the following three suggestions:(1)Improve the external social environment and increase the investment ratio of education to GDP(2)Give full play to the concentration of talents and improve the allocation of human resources in colleges and universities(3)Optimize the use of funds and improve the efficiency of the use of educational resources.
