Vocational education in the new era not only serves the present,but also focuses on the future.It focuses on the long-term development of students.Career planning is based on meeting students’ needs for their future development.The exploration of career planning ability from the perspective of sustainable development concept can help secondary vocational students change their ideas,take active actions,plan their studies,and improve their self-management ability,so as to help them smoothly change from school people to social people and professional people.From the perspective of sustainable development,this paper took Chengdu C school as a case study.First of all,1200 copies of the Questionnaire on Student Career Planning Ability were distributed in the school and 864 valid questionnaires were collected.SPSS22.0 was used for data analysis to understand the current situation of vocational students’ career planning ability.The analysis results show that the overall level of the students’ career planning ability is relatively high,but the individual difference is great,and their career planning consciousness and career decision ability are weak.Longitudinal comparison shows that students’ career planning ability decreases with the rise of grades.Horizontal comparison shows that: 1.Students who have received career guidance and participated in student cadre work have higher career planning ability;2.Male students have higher career planning ability than female students.Secondly,researcher designed the teacher interview outline and the student interview outline and used them to interviews the teachers and students of Grade One and Grade Three of the school.At the same time,the researcher observed the school career planning course teaching situation,explored the factors that could affect the career planning ability of secondary vocational students.The factors are as follows: First,families pay insufficient attention to vocational education,which affects students’ vocational cognition;Second,the career-planning education is misunderstood,and do not really awaken students’ consciousness of career planning;Thirdly,the lack of professional knowledge in professional courses makes students’ cognition lag behind.Fourth,students lack effective and systematic career guidance.Thirdly,according to Shubo’s career development theory,the author put forward some tentative countermeasures to the secondary vocational students in the trial period to improve their career planning ability.The following countermeasures are proposed: First,education authorities should organize relevant staff or experts and scholars to sort out a series of sustainable vocational education policies,and systematically interpret the front-line education work in schools to get rid of the misunderstanding of schools and teachers in policy understanding.Second,secondary vocational schools set up a special studio to integrate various educational resources so that they can better provide students with professional and systematic career counselling.Third,the school education system of career planning with sustainable development should be constructed from three aspects: curriculum teaching,career selection and activity.
