| The emerging educational technology represented by the Massive Open Online Course is more and more widely used.The emergence of MOOC brings the opportunity of reform to education,and meanwhile it has a new expectation for the role of university teachers.Influenced by the inertia of traditional education,Chinese university teachers have been playing the role of knowledge exporter for a long time,ignoring the "student-centered" teaching concept and restricting students’ personalized development.MOOC has brought about the change of learning mode from "passive to autonomous" and teaching mode from "indoctrination to interaction",which has brought new hope to break the current development dilemma of education.The development of MOOC has brought about various educational changes,and the role of university teachers has inevitably changed.In the context of the emerging education technology,the research on the role of MOOC teachers in universities is particularly crucial.Based on the role theory and the theory of personality traits,this paper divided the role performance dimensions of university MOOC teachers,considered the relationship between personality traits and role performance and the mediating role of ability,and constructed the mechanism model of the effect of MOOC teachers’ personality traits on role performance.On the basis of literature research,questionnaire survey and interview are adopted in this paper,the research hypothesis was tested by exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model path analysis,and the results of data analysis were verified and discussed in combination with the interview content.The main results of this study are as follows:(1)Divided the role performance dimensions of university MOOC teachers.Based on the study of online teacher’s role which similar to MOOC teacher’s role,after literature review and summary,and combined with field interview,this paper finally divides the role performance measurement of university MOOC teachers into four dimensions: instructor,designer,technician and evaluator.(2)Verification of the effect of personality traits on role performance.The data analysis results show that the openness of experience and accountability of university MOOC teachers have a positive impact on the four dimensions of roles performance,including instructor,designer,technician and evaluator.(3)Explored the influence mechanism of personality traits on role performance: the mediating effect of ability.The teaching ability and technical ability of the university MOOC teachers have a positive impact on the four dimensions of role performance: instructor,designer,technician and evaluator.The teaching ability and technical ability of university MOOC teachers have mediating effect on personality traits and role performance. |
