| During the process of China’s urbanization, there are a large number of migrant workers, born in rural area while working in urban cities temporarily.Social inclusion has been an urgent problem for them under the background of new rural and urban policies.Meanwhile, the human flow is accompanied with the problem about left-behind children and migrant children, who can’t lead a stable life with parents. The situation of these children is highly related to the social inclusion of migrant workers.Based on the theories of western social assimilation and previous study on China’s migrant people, this study comes up with a measuring model for Chinese migrant workers’ social inclusion in cities, including four dimensions-economic inclusion, social inclusion, mental inclusion and urban identity. Then the implication of migrant child on their parents’ social inclusion is explored by OLS regression and regression with instrumented variable.Next, this study explores the mechanism of the implication from the perspective of economics.Last, heterogeneity is measured from 2 aspects:generation and housing. It is found that the level of social inclusion is measured 67.60 out of 100,which is not quite high.Migrant children living together with parents has a positive implication on migrant workers’ social inclusion, especially on the mental dimension. As for the mechanism, children migrating with parents changed the expenditure structure then lead to promotion of social inclusion. To promote migrant workers’ social inclusion, measures must be taken to remove obstacles of children moving to city with parents.Besides, urban management can be optimized in different ways to promote the stability of migrant workers.Last, coupons can be offered to increase their social inclusion. |
