Against the background of an increasing aging population,China is in urgent need of building a sufficient number and quality of elderly service professionals to crack the talent bottleneck facing the development of the elderly service industry.The students of majoring elderly service in higher vocational colleges are the main reserve army for the construction of elderly service professionals.So the importance of enhancing the employment intention of elderly service students in higher vocational colleges is obvious.The authors investigate and analyze the current employment intentions of elderly service students in vocational colleges in Jiangxi Province,draw out the current situation of their employment intentions,the factors influencing their employment intentions and the degree of their influence,and propose relevant countermeasures to enhance the employment intentions of elderly service students in vocational colleges based on the conclusions.This study firstly compares and analyzes the current research related to the professionals of geriatric service at home and abroad through literature collection and survey.In the context of an aging global population,researchers in all countries are emphasizing the importance of elderly service professionals to the elderly service field and exploring why they are reluctant to work in elderly service and how to attract more elderly service professionals to the field.The data collected are analyzed by using SPSS23.0 and Excel statistical software to find out the current situation of employment intention and the factors influencing the employment intention and the degree of influence of elderly service students in higher vocational colleges.The results of the study show that the employment intention of senior service students in vocational colleges is average,and the phenomenon is "more female students,more rural students and more low-income families".Among them,students who preferred to work in elderly service are those who volunteered first,have internship opportunities,have experience in caring for the elderly,receive support from their parents,and consider starting their own business.As for the factors influencing employment intention,the four factors affecting employment intention are external environment factor,workplace factor,personal factor and family factor.Among them,personal factor and workplace factor have a significant positive influence on the employment intention of elderly service students in vocational colleges.The external environment factor and family factor have a significant negative influence on the employment intention of elderly service students in vocational colleges.Finally,according to the analysis and conclusion,the author proposes specific strategies to improve the employment intention of elderly service students in vocational colleges.They mainly include: improving the employment environment for elderly service students,including employment policy,policy of recruiting talents,entrepreneurial incentive mechanism and social status of the sector;strengthening the practical training and employ ability training of elderly service students in vocational colleges;clarifying the perspective of enterprises and increasing school-enterprise cooperation;enhancing the ability of elderly service students in vocational colleges,including interest cultivation and career planning;increasing the publicity of elderly Service industry and improve students’ family support.
