Research purposes:Aerobic exercise is a popular fitness method for the general public.Compared with competitive sports with a complete evaluation and monitoring system, public fitness lacks a simple and effective evaluation method to monitor the aerobic exercise process. This study intends to construct an Effective Load Index(ELI),which can be used to simply and effectively quantify the aerobic exercise load and provide a reference for the mass fitness crowd to perform aerobic exercise scientifically.Research method:This research uses literature data method, experimental research method, mathematical statistics method and other methods to conduct research.Based on exercise fatigue and exercise recovery rules, quantitatively describe the changes in the human body’s functional state, and then transform the actual exercise load into an effective load that better reflects the body’s degree of exercise stimulation. Finally, the ELI is constructed by comparing the effective load with the appropriate load interval, when ELI is in the range of 0 to 1,it indicates that the exercise load is appropriate. This study uses a single-group pre-test and post-test experimental design, and selects 10 amateur runners in Guangzhou as experimental subjects to conduct a 12-week running fitness experiment. On the one hand, the cardiopulmonary endurance test is performed before and after the experiment, and the"VO2max increase"is calculated. On the other hand,ELI is used to evaluate the aerobic exercise load of the subjects during the experiment, and the ratio of the number of ELI evaluation standard days to the total number of exercise days during the experiment period is taken as the"ELI compliance rate",which is relevant and effective as the ELI criterion test indicators. The validity of the empirical ELI is tested by the correlation between the test indicators and the efficacy criteria.Research results:When the amount of exercise is appropriate, there is a significant correlation between"ELI compliance rate"and"VO2max increase",the correlation coefficient r=0.73(p<0.05).After including individuals with excessive exercise, the correlation coefficient between"ELI compliance rate"and"VO2max increase"decreased from 0.73(p<0.05)to 0.57(p>0.05).In the ELI construction process, the normal effective load conversion is carried out after considering the recovery situation. The correlation coefficient between"ELI compliance rate"and"VO2max increase"is r=0.73(p<0.05),after removing the effective load conversion link,r=0.64(p>0.05).Research conclusions:(1)The effective load index(ELI)constructed in this study is more effective in evaluating aerobic exercise load when the amount of exercise is appropriate.(2)In the case of excessive exercise, the validity of ELI’s evaluation of aerobic exercise load is reduced.(3)When the recovery situation is included in the construction of ELI,the validity of ELI in evaluating aerobic exercise load is improved.
