Feasibility Study On The Establishment Of Martial Arts Courses In Confucius Institutes In Brazil

Confucius institutes are an important organization for the overseas dissemination and development of Chinese culture.With the construction of the characteristic Confucius institute and the requirements of the development plan of the institute,it has become the goal of the institute to explore the characteristic development based on its own conditions and meet the needs of local people.Wushu is a traditional sport of the Chinese nation,which contains the essence of Chinese traditional culture and is a treasure of the nation.To integrate it into the characteristic construction of Confucius institute is not only the need of enriching its curriculum construction,but also the necessity of the internationalization development of wushu.This study state of Confucius institute in Unesp,Brazil,the feasibility of martial arts courses as the research object,by using the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview and mathematical statistics,this paper makes a theoretical analysis and necessity analysis on the establishment of martial arts courses in this college,and makes a corresponding investigation on its managers,teachers and students,and then carries out a feasibility analysis on the establishment of martial arts courses in this college.Research findings:1.The Confucius institute has the hardware and software foundation to offer martial arts courses in the aspects of policy making,managers’ will,and students’ needs.2.There are few activities related to wushu in Confucius institutes.The teaching contents of wushu vary from teacher to teacher,from time to time and from place to place,and no systematic wushu curriculum system has been established.3.The shortage of wushu teachers in Confucius institutes makes it difficult to guarantee the systematic teaching of wushu courses.However,the local teachers have a good age and educational background structure,and a high degree of recognition of Chinese culture.They have a strong desire to transfer to the post of full-time martial arts teachers after systematic training.4.The main way for students in Confucius institutes to obtain wushu information is from online media,and they do not understand the cultural connotation of wushu.Most students have a positive attitude towards the establishment of martial arts courses,hoping to increase their understanding of Chinese culture through the learning of martial arts.A small number of students do not know much about martial arts,martial arts courses on the establishment of a wait-and-see attitude.5.There are martial arts schools set up by Chinese people around the teaching sites of Confucius institutes,but there is no turnover or business contact between them except for festivals organized by the government.On this basis,this study proposes the following Suggestions:1.Organize relevant experts to conduct targeted research and development of the martial arts curriculum system in line with the national conditions of Brazil and the needs of local people,and set up special funds for the project development and follow-up optimization.2.Planned the cultivation plan of wushu professional teachers,made the introduction of Chinese wushu teachers and the cultivation plan of local wushu teachers,and organically combined short-term introduction and long-term training.3.Hold various types of martial arts competitions or special cultural activities,or integrate them with local influential activities,so as to improve local people’s awareness of martial arts and stimulate more people’s interest in learning martial arts.4.Make rational use of the local social resources and the resources of the martial arts schools around the teaching sites to provide human resources and intellectual support for the optimization of the martial arts curriculum system,the training of local teachers,the organization of promotion activities and the creation of martial arts atmosphere.
