The Relationship Between Physical Exercise And College Students’ Emotion

The Report on the Development of Chinese College Students’ Ideological and Political Education points out that "college students’ physical health and exercise,psychological distress and anti-pressure ability are correlated to different degrees,forming an organic whole.In order to sustainably maintain a positive mental attitude and good physical condition in a prolonged state of exhaustion,it is significant to treat physical exercise the same as study.Physical exercise is a constructive incentive behavior for a kind of emotional state regulation and management.This paper explores the relationship between physical exercise and college students’ emotions,and generally studies the tenacity personality as an intermediary variable.In this study,random sampling method was adopted to select students from two universities in Central China to conduct a questionnaire survey.A total of 1000 questionnaires were issued.957 copies were recovered;69 invalid and regular questionnaires were excluded;The actual number of valid questionnaires was 888.Among them,447 were male,accounting for50.3% of the total.There were 462 female students,accounting for 49.7% of the total subjects.Through independent sample T test,single factor analysis of variance,correlation coefficient and regression analysis,this paper discusses physical exercise,college students’ emotion and tough personality,in order to improve the effect of college students’ participation in physical exercise on positive emotional guidance and cultivate tough personality in sports.The results show that:(1)the different time,frequency and intensity of college students’ participation in physical exercise show that: male students are better than female students in physical exercise;The exercise situation of seniors and juniors is superior to that of freshmen and sophomores;Students from cities precede those from counties,towns and rural areas.Students who are in good health exercise better than those who are average or poor.(2)The characteristics of college students’ positive emotions are as follows: male students’ positive emotional experience is better than female students’(P<0.01).The higher grade students’ positive emotional experience is better than the lower grade(P < 0.05).The positive emotional experience of urban college students is better than that of county,town and rural students(P<0.05).The students with better health status have better positive emotional experience(P<0.01).The negative emotional characteristics of college students are as follows: the negative emotional experience of senior students is lower than that of junior students(P<0.01).The worse the health status of the students,the more negative emotional experience(P<0.01).(3)The dimensions of tenacity of college students are as follows: male students’ tenacity and dimensions are significantly higher than female students’(P < 0.01).Freshmen,juniors and seniors show apparently higher persistence than sophomores,and juniors also show significantly higher persistence than freshmen(P < 0.05).The challenge dimension and tenacity personality of city students are significantly higher than those of county,town and rural students(P<0.05).The toughness and dimensions of the very healthy college students are significantly better than those of the healthy college students,and those of the healthy college students are significantly better than those of the normal and poor health college students(P<0.01).There is a significant positive correlation between the amount of physical exercise,the emotional and tenacity personality of college students(P < 0.01).College students’ participation in physical exercise has a significant positive predictive effect on emotion regulation,and toughness personality plays a partial intermediary role between college students’ participation in physical exercise and emotion regulation,that is,participation in physical exercise promotes the formation of individual toughness personality indirectly affects the emotion of college students.
