Abstract/Summary:
In order to achieve high-quality economic and social development,it is particularly important to think about how to break the increasingly solidified social class, promote fair education opportunities, and improve innovation and entrepreneurship to a new level. In the 2021 government work report,it is also proposed to further deepen education reform and focus on improving the quality of education;at the same time,it advocates vigorously promoting entrepreneurship and in-depth promotion of mass entrepreneurship and innovation.Based on the family economic utility theory, this paper uses the crosssectional data of the Chinese General Social Survey(CGSS)2012,2013,2015,and 2017 to construct a large sample of empirical research on the impact of education intergenerational mobility on mass entrepreneurial decision-making.First,this article uses the Educational Intergenerational Mobility Scale and the Educational Intergenerational Transfer Matrix to measure the trend of educational intergenerational mobility in my country to reflect the development of education in my country in recent decades;secondly,it uses the educational intergenerational mobility as a family item.Basic characteristics, focusing on its impact on public entrepreneurial decision-making and analysis of possible impact mechanisms;finally, summarize the research conclusions and make recommendations. The research shows that: Using relevant indicators to measure the overall trend of intergenerational mobility in China’s education, the results show that the development of China’s education presents a trend of overall upward mobility and partial education consolidation, that is,children with lower parental education levels have a lower probability of obtaining better academic qualifications,Indicating that there is still a certain degree of unfairness in educational opportunities;Empirical analysis shows that the upward mobility of education has restrained mass entrepreneurship in China to a certain extent. However, from the perspective of different types of entrepreneurship, the intergenerational mobility of education has significantly reduced the "survival type"."Entrepreneurship probability has increased the possibility of "opportunity" entrepreneurship; The analysis of heterogeneity shows that the influence of intergenerational mobility of education on mass entrepreneurial decision-making shows differences in urban and rural areas and family status.By constructing instrumental variables and replacing estimation methods from the results of the robustness test, the benchmark regression is an unbiased and robust estimation;By constructing three intermediary variables of "employment preference","family assets" and "family social status" to analyze the influence of education intergenerational mobility on mass entrepreneurial decision-making impact mechanism. The conclusion shows that individuals with upward flow of education between generations are more inclined to work within the system when they are employed, and thus do not start their own businesses. Moreover, because the realization of upward flow of family education reduces the accumulation of family tangible assets,it squeezes entrepreneurial funds.Through self-evaluation of family social status,it is found that intergenerational mobility of upward education is conducive to the accumulation of social capital and thus promote entrepreneurial behavior, but this effect is only significant in"opportunistic" entrepreneurship.Summarizing the research conclusions,it puts forward suggestions for promoting mass entrepreneurship and improving the fairness of educational opportunities.
