| With the development and popularity of 5G communication technology, mobile payment and social software, the Internet has been integrated into every aspect of residents’ lives and is increasingly becoming an inseparable part of modern life.Related report shows that college students are the main group of Internet users, and their group size and usage hours have reached a very high level.Although the Internet can greatly facilitate the study and life of college students,it can also have many adverse effects on their mental health. For example, users are confronted with a large amount of information every day,and many of them say they are afraid of missing out on exciting contents, thus they have nothing in common with others when they chat, and they are afraid of becoming an "outsider" in the information age, which is called "Fear of Missing Out" by psychologists. This phenomenon is called "Fear of Missing Out"(Fo MO),which is defined by psychologists as diffuse anxiety that occurs when individuals miss out on meaningful experiences of others and is accompanied by a constant focus on the dynamics of others.Studies have shown that Fo MO is closely related to various negative emotional experiences and problematic Internet use behaviors, and is an important factor threatening the psychological health of college students,so the problem of Fo MO among college students deserves more attention.Since Jon Kabat-Zinn introduced mindfulness into the field of psychology in the late 1970 s,the effectiveness of mindfulness in dealing with negative emotions and problematic Internet use behaviors has been continuously proven, and some overseas studies have shown that the level of mindfulness is negatively correlated with the level of Fo MO among college students. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the relationship between Fo MO and mindfulness of local college students through a questionnaire survey, and to design a mindfulness training program for college students’ Fo MO to investigate the intervention effect of mindfulness on college students’ Fo MO.The study was divided into two parts. In the first part of the study, the Chinese version of the Five-Factor Positive Thinking Inventory and the Chinese version of the Trait-State Misconception Anxiety Inventory were distributed to college students from a local university, and 250 valid questionnaires were collected to investigate the current situation of misconception anxiety and the level of positive thinking among college students, and to investigate the correlation between the two variables in the local context;in the second part of the study,30 subjects were recruited in a local university and randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group, and mindfulness group training was conducted for the intervention group to investigate the intervention effect of mindfulness on college students’ Fo MO.The results of the study were as follows.1.The mean total score of college students’ error anxiety was 28.84,and Fo MO was at a moderate level.2.The mean score of mindfulness of college students was 120.43,and the mindfulness ability was at a moderate level.3.Fo MO was negatively correlated with the level of mindfulness among college students, the higher the level of mindfulness, the lower the level of Fo MO.4.Mindfulness training can improve the level of mindfulness and reduce the level of Fo MO of college students. |
