This translation text is selected from an educational book which is named The Taming of Education(Chapter 9).This source text puts forward the importance of wicked education through the assessment of contemporary education methods.Meanwhile,it points out that tame education hinders the development of students' creativity and originality,which is not in line with the purpose of contemporary education.This text is an academic text with strong specialty and strict logic.In the report of translation practice,the translator analyzes lexical translation,the translation of attributive clauses and textual cohesion in detail in combination with the concrete sentences in the translated text.The lexical level includes extension,amplification and the conversion of the parts of speech;attributive clause includes translating into coordinate structure,translating into composite independent sentence and translating into adverbial;textual cohesion includes reference,ellipsis and conjunction.It is hoped that this translation practice can provide a reference method for the translation of such texts in the future and contribute to the research and development of education in China.
