The selected text of this translation practice is taken from the third chapter Parallel Session: National Experiences On Agroecology To Achieve The SDGs of Scaling Up Agroecology To Achieve The Sustainable Development Goals--Proceedings Of The Second FAO International Symposium. It is mainly about speeches on Agroecology by representatives from countries at the Second FAO International Symposium.Based on the text features, the translator takes “faithfulness” as standard and “conciseness” as principle. And meanwhile guided by Nida's opinion of “redundancy equivalence”during translation, the author analyzes the translation of technical terms and the redundancy that happens when the source language is transformed into the target language in this report, and then concludes translation methods like amplification, coversion and omission. Finally, the author hopes that the translation of this text can be borrowed for reference by the future study related to agriculture, then can thus arouse the researchers' attention to the transition from traditional agriculture to Agroecology.
