According to China's Ministry of Education "quality specification(try out)of higher education for foreign students studying in China " regulation,we know the new HSK level 4 is a standard of measurement to test Chinese language learners if they have enough Chinese language ability to enter Chinese universities studying professional learning.So new HSK level 4 grades is especially important for international students.The new type of examination questions is "To complete the sentence",which is in the majority in those questions in the new HSK level 4 and scores more,and it examines widely on syntax.At present,the studies on the question of "to complete the sentence" have many,but the studies that combine with specific one country only a few.Besides,the characteristics and the high frequency of examination questions have not combined with Lao students answered the questions also.This study Takes Lao students as the object,based on the analysis of the new HSK level 4 "to complete the sentence" it discussed on the basis of Lao students problems in answer the questions,and analyze the reasons,putting forward the corresponding teaching suggestions.This paper uses quantitative analysis method to analyze the collected new HSK Level-4 " to sentence completions" questions,classify the words,phrases and grammar sentences examined in the questions,and summarize the high-frequency test points of this question type,such as the words,existential sentences,and pivotal sentences,which are the high-frequency test content of this type of question.Based on the analysis of the questions,a test paper is designed and tested for Lao students.The corpus obtained from the test is summarized and analyzed to summarize the problems that frequently occur when they answer the " to sentence completion" questions in the new HSK Level-4.The study found that when Lao students answer these questions,they often have problems such as positive attribute,adverbial and complement in the wrong order,object fronting,and so on.In writing Chinese characters,there are problems such as missing strokes,redundant strokes,missing parts,errors in similar characters,as well as missing,miswriting and misusing punctuation marks.After summarizing these problems,combined with interviews with Chinese teachers and Lao students,the reasons for these problems are analyzed from both subjective and objective aspects.The subjective reasons mainly include negative transfer of mother tongue,negative transfer of target language knowledge,influence of learners' learning strategies,and problems of learners' learning motivation and attitude.The main objective reasons are the inadequate adaptability of teaching materials,the single teaching method and teaching objective of teachers,and the imperfect curriculum setting.Finally,according to these problems and reasons,the paper puts forward some teaching strategies to help Lao students improve the correct rate of " to sentence completions" in the new HSK Level-4 test so as to strive for a higher score in the new HSK-4 test.
