The new HSK level-5 test paper consists of three parts: listening,reading and writing.Among them,"writing" is the most difficult part for examinees.The writing part includes three question types:"sentence-completion" "qualifier writing" and "picture writing"." Sentence-completion" is the first question in the ’ writing" part which mainly examines Chinese grammar and vocabulary knowledge.This thesis takes 248 "sentence-completion" questions out of 31 sets of new HSK level-5 paper as the research object,and summarizes 35 language points which are frequently investigated in this question.The author designed a special questionnaire according to the test points.Through the analysis of the test questions in the questionnaire,it is found that the disordered word order,the wrong judgment of sentence elements,and the incomprehension of Chinese words are all possible reasons for the errors made by foreign students,and determines the key points and difficulties in grammar and vocabulary teaching.Finally,the author puts forward some teaching strategies from two aspects of "teaching" and "learning",in order to help foreign students improve their ability to answer "sentence-completion".
