China is in a critical period of economic transformation and upgrading.The market needs a large number of technical and skilled personnel.The state attaches great importance to vocational education.Higher vocational education has developed rapidly.In 2019,vocational colleges expanded their enrollment by 1 million.Judging from the current development of higher vocational education in China,there are still problems such as low teaching quality and unclear school characteristics.How to promote the development of higher vocational education while ensuring the quality of talent cultivation is an urgent problem to be solved.Ontario Community College of Canada started early and the quality of education is high.In the process of development,it has gradually formed an education quality assurance system that focuses on internal quality assurance of the college,supplemented by external quality assurance,and monitored by social participation.To this end,this paper studies the quality assurance activities of Ontario Community Colleges,hoping to provide suggestions for ensuring the quality of higher vocational education in China.This paper analyzes the education quality assurance system of Ontario Community College by means of literature review,case analysis and comparative research.In the first place,sort out the motivation and development process of quality assurance.Next,it analyzes the structure and mechanism of the external quality assurance system of Ontario Community College.Then,several schools such as Georgia College were selected as cases to study the internal quality assurance mechanism of the college.Finally,based on the above analysis,the characteristics of the quality assurance system of Ontario Community Colleges are deeply explored,and some enlightenments for the quality assurance of higher vocational education in China are put forward.We should improve the third-party evaluation mechanism,promote the development of vocational skill level certification standards,set up diversified quality assurance agencies,establish a mechanism for self-evaluation of college quality,formulate diversified talent training programs,reinforce the management of specialty setting,and strengthen the construction of professional teachers.
