With the rapid development of information technology,middle school classrooms also need to keep up with the trend of the times,especially the highly comprehensive Geography,and introduce tourism documentaries with strong interest and authenticity into junior high school geography classrooms,which can increase the intuitiveness and visibility of geography classrooms.Faced with numerous tourism documentary video resources,how to correctly choose and use has become an important research topic.This article analyzed the current situation of the use of tourism documentaries in a junior high school geography class in Xu Zhou through literature research methods,questionnaire surveys,interview survey methods,and case analysis methods.It also analyzed the survey results and found that tourism documentaries are deeply loved by teachers and students.However,for various reasons,the degree of promotion of the tourism documentary in the geography classroom is not high.Some teachers are faced with difficulties in knowing how to collect tourism documentary video resources,and the problem of low utilization of the collected tourism documentaries.Therefore,this article proposes the use strategy in the selection,editing,and playback of specific cases.The considerations in the selection including close to the content of teaching,the background of the times,and the cognitive characteristics of junior high school students;editing strategies include adding audio subtitles to clips that do not have Chinese or English texts,transposing numerical units that exceed the cognitive level and regional reference objects,cutting out core clips,and reasonably controlling playback duration;playback strategies were discussed in terms of different types of lectures,teaching sessions,and different playback modes.This article expects to use tourism documentary films to effectively integrate research into geography teaching in junior high schools to provide some references for the use of geography teachers in the classroom.It also hopes to increase students' interest in learning geography,improve the geography's academic status,in accordancewith the concept of the new curriculum,students are trained to develop the habit of lifelong learning and the ability to discover geographical knowledge in life.
