Research On The Current Situation And Long-term Mechanism Of Mini-basketball Competition In Guangzhou

The main participants of Mini-basketball are primary school students between 6and 12 years old.The purpose of promoting Mini-basketball is to improve the physical quality of children,enrich the types of extracurricular sports activities of students,improve students' personality and increase the number of participants in basketball in China.In recent years,the sports and education departments and social organizations in Guangzhou have realized the benefits of carrying out Mini-basketball games and started to develop all kinds of Mini-basketball competitions,which plays a vital role in promoting the development of campus basketball.Nowadays,whether these competitions are a flash in the pan or can build a long-term competition platform for the majority of children in Guangzhou is the key point of this research.This study based on the operational mechanism of the Guangzhou Mini-basketball competition,to discuss the shortcomings in the process of competition operation and try to make scientific and reasonable suggestions for sustainable development of Guangzhou Mini-basketball competition.Multiple-methods are adopted in this dissertation,including textual analysis,questionnaires,comparative analysis,expert interview,mathematical statistics and logical analysis,this research investigate and analyze six mechanisms,including the organization and management,competition,goal motivation,publicity,guarantee and back-up talent training.The main findings state as follows:(1)The basketball game in Guangzhou has a century-old history and a solid mass foundation,which provides a fertile soil for the establishment of the long-term mechanism of Mini-basketball competition.(2)The national policy support for youth sports competition,the change of parents' attitude towards sports,and the financial input of Guangzhou to sports competition have created an environment full of opportunities for the development of Mini-basketball competition in Guangzhou.(3)The participation scale of Mini-basketball competitions involving public welfare is far larger than that of Mini-basketball competitions held by profit-making enterprises.The awareness of sports consumption of Mini-basketball participants in Guangzhou is still in the stage of formation.(4)The government and the educational authorities have insufficient input to the Mini-basketball competition in Guangzhou;the support from society and sponsors also needs to be improved.(5)The organizers in Guangzhou lack breadth and depth of publicity for Mini-basketball competitions,lack of combination with emerging video media,and the publicity efforts need to be improved.(6)The time rules and special rules of Mini-basketball competition in Guangzhou have not been unified,and the schedule arrangement needs to be further optimized.(7)Mini-basketball competitions are required to take part in under the ages of12,but students after 12 cannot get the same kind of competition experience,so it is difficult for the basketball population cultivated in primary school to transition to the next stage,and the goal of expanding the basketball population for Guangzhou has not been fully achieved.
