As the treasures of the literary world, masterpieces are becoming more influential in language learning every year, and the status of teaching masterpieces has been raised in the Ministry of Education's textbooks. The Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)requires junior high school students to "read a total of at least 2.6 million words outside the classroom, and read two or three masterpieces each school year." This means that the teaching of masterpieces is becoming more and more important in language education, and reading classic masterpieces is the most effective way to improve students' language reading ability,so the Ministry's version of the textbook has created a new section called "Guided Reading of Masterpieces",which increases the teaching of masterpieces and provides a new and better direction for language education. At the same time,as the learning pressure of secondary school students has increased year by year in recent years, the policy of "reducing the burden" has been introduced year by year, and changes have been made to substantially reduce the burden of students' schoolwork,so "reducing the burden of education" has become an issue that cannot be ignored in today's education sector. In this educational context, quality education is increasingly advocated in the language sector to reduce the heavy burden on secondary school students. How to find a way out for "guided reading" in the context of "reducing the burden" has become a difficult task in language teaching today, which is also the focus of this thesis. In this paper,we found that there is no literature on the combination of "load reduction" and "guided reading of masterpieces" in previous language studies. The following study discusses the research concepts of "guided reading of masterpieces"and "load reduction" and analyzes the connection between the two.It is found that it is very meaningful to study the way out of "guided reading" teaching in junior high school. In order to improve a series of problems in the classroom,I conducted a survey through questionnaires and interviews with teachers and students in my internship school, and analyzed a series of problems. The problems include students' lack of interest and motivation in reading, lack of guidance on proper reading methods, low reading efficiency, and unreasonable planning of "guided reading" class time and class format. Therefore,in order to solve the dilemma of "guided reading" under the background of "reducing the burden",the author based on the "plus" and "minus"aspects. In order to solve the dilemma of "guided reading" teaching in the context of"load reduction",the author explores the two aspects of "plus" and "minus" from the perspectives of teachers and students respectively, aiming at synergizing "guided reading" teaching with other aspects of language teaching, and promoting "minus" with"plus".In the aspect of "plus",we aim to make the teaching of "guided reading"synergistic with other aspects of language teaching,so as to promote "minus" by "plus".In the aspect of "plus",teachers should pay attention to the role of "guide",through creating a good reading environment, changing the way of teaching masterpiece reading, organizing a variety of reading activities and other ways to provide students with reasonable reading guidance, and promote "The teachers should also change the traditional concept of reading, make scientific reading plans, and actively participate in the reading of masterpieces. In terms of "reduction",teachers should insist on implementing the synergy between "guided reading" and other aspects of language teaching to improve students' language learning efficiency and reduce their burden, and students should set their mindset and learn how to read masterpieces using scientific reading skills.
