The main body of this paper is divided into the following five aspects: an overview of teaching of group text reading and novel text,the current situation,the lesson planning strategies,the classroom teaching implementation strategy,and practical course examples and teaching reflections on novel teaching of group text reading in senior high schools.The first chapter mainly introduces what is teaching of group text reading and what is novel,the text characteristics of novel and the necessity of teaching of group text reading in senior high schools.This provides a theoretical and practical basis for putting forward the novel teaching strategy of group text reading in senior high schools;chapter 2 presents the background and subjects of the questionnaire,the design and results of the questionnaire,the dilemmas and causes of high school novel teaching and teaching of novel group text reading,in an effort to truly reflect the local teaching reality.This provides directions for developing teaching strategies for group text reading in senior high schools;the third chapter discusses three aspects,that is,diversifying the selection of topics to unify novel group texts,selecting integrated texts to form novel group texts and designing text organization based on teaching objectives,in an attempt to enhance the effectiveness of lesson planning for novel teaching of group text reading in senior high schools;chapter four discusses two aspects: collective construction based on the "independent,cooperative and creative" learning style and the concept of "integration of reading and writing" to develop writing literacy,in order to form a scientific and effective classroom teaching paradigm and improve the efficiency of classroom teaching;the fifth chapter takes "How to live?" which I taught as an example of novel teaching of group text reading,showing the reflection on teaching after class.The example is an effective validation of the theory as it is designed strictly in accordance with my proposed strategy for novel teaching of group text reading in senior high schools.The core of this paper is the strategies for novel teaching of group text reading in senior high schools,i.e.,lesson planning strategies in Chapter 3 and classroom teaching implementation strategies in Chapter 4.I bring forth two new ideas in Chapter 3.First,most other researchers have skimmed the surface on "The Author of the Novel as a Topic",but I explain three specific strategies in detail.Second,I present the rationale for designing a textual organization.To be more specific,to establish instructional goals based on the textual function and learning context of the novel.What I blaze new trails in Chapter 4 is: first,I focus on the core concept of teaching of group text reading--collective construction--and design a paradigm of classroom novel teaching process for group text reading in senior high schools based on the "independent,cooperative,and creative" learning approach.Second,based on the principle of integrating reading and writing,I skillfully integrate the popular advanced writing concepts-communicative contextual writing and argument writing-into the novel teaching of group text reading classroom,seeking to enhance students’ writing literacy.In summary,I propose strategies for novel teaching of group text reading in senior high schools on the basis of theoretical cognition and practical experience.Hopefully,it will inspire front-line teachers to improve the effectiveness of novel teaching of group text reading in their high schools;more importantly,hopefully it will change the current teaching situation in poor western regions and add to the theoretical framework of teaching of group text reading.
