Since the 21 st century,with the rapid development of science and technology,the social demand structure for talents is also changing.What is needed in the new era is the integration of innovative and comprehensive high-tech talents.Steam education is an interdisciplinary integrated education based on science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.It advocates the use of interdisciplinary knowledge and tools to solve problems in real problem situations,and cultivate students' key abilities such as cooperation and communication ability,problem-solving ability and creativity.Steam education has attracted extensive attention all over the world,And become one of the important ways of talent training in the 21 st century.Through the literature review of steam education,the researchers understand the implementation status and existing problems of steam education in primary and secondary school teaching practice.Combined with their own teaching practice and interviews with frontline teachers,they find that the current domestic steam education research mostly stays at the level of theoretical construction,and there are many discussions on the connotation,characteristics and relationship with talent training of steam education,The practice-based research for primary and secondary school front-line teachers is relatively few,resulting in the lack of operable teaching theory guidance and experience reference for front-line teachers,which is also one of the important reasons why steam education is difficult to implement in primary and secondary school practice.Now all over the country are actively trying to carry out classroom teaching practice based on steam concept,but in practice,they often pay too much attention to teachers' guidance and students' practice,ignore the importance of students' understanding of knowledge,and weaken students' ability and value of using interdisciplinary knowledge to solve problems by themselves.Project based learning provides learners with the necessary scenes and real life experience to support students' meaning construction of the concepts of science,technology,engineering,art and mathematics.It is the most widely used teaching strategy in the implementation of steam education in American higher education and basic education.This study summarizes the teaching process of project-based learning,runs project-based learning through the whole teaching practice,constructs the project-based teaching mode based on steam concept on the basis of theoretical review,and expounds the principles and methods followed in each link from the two stages of teaching design and teaching implementation.Taking the "new energy vehicle design" project as an example,under the guidance of the project steam teaching mode proposed by the researchers,a two-day project course is designed,and the design of the teaching mode is continuously optimized and improved on the basis of two rounds of teaching practice.Through data collection during practice and after-school interviews,it is found that project-based steam learning promotes students' learning and understanding of knowledge,effectively improves students' problem-solving ability and students' interest in steam courses,especially in science,technology and steam career,At the same time,it is found that the students with higher problem-solving ability have higher interest in technology and engineering.On this basis,I hope to provide some experience and theoretical support for the practice of steam education in China.
