In the wake of the development in curriculum resources,many film and television resources,like documentary,have gradually attracted the attention of the most educators by virtue of their real,objective and meaty content.And these resources have been applied in Chinese Teaching in middle school.Chinese reading instruction,as a key part of Chinese Teaching in middle school,is a vital approach to foster students ' core literacy in Chinese.Nevertheless,there are still many issues in the current teaching system of Chinese reading in middle school.For example,teachers still use the stereotyped teaching method and students lack the good reading habits and awareness.This paper attempts to apply documentary films to the teaching of Chinese reading in middle school,aiming at enriching teaching resources,optimizing teaching methods and using visual images to inspire students' interest in reading,so as to further increasing the efficiency of reading instruction and ultimately achieve the purpose of improving students' reading level and fostering students' Chinese core literacy.In this essay the author will mainly discusses the application of documentary in Chinese Reading Instruction in middle school from three parts.In the first part,the author will define and explain the concept and characteristics of documentary,and then expound the application value of documentary in Chinese Reading Teaching in middle school.The second part is to investigate the current situation of documentary application in Chinese Reading Teaching in middle school by distributing questionnaires,and to find out the problems in the research according to the current situation.The last part is the strategy inquiry and teaching case analysis,which is also the key part of this paper.According to the current situation of Chinese Reading Teaching in middle school,the author will discuss the implementation strategies of documentary in Chinese Reading Teaching in middle school from three aspects.At the same time,in order to make these strategies more instructive,the detailed teaching cases and analyses are included.
