For the first time,the Ministry of Education's junior secondary language textbooks clearly distinguish between taught and self-reading texts,and provide a carefully designed reading support system for each category,with the changes to the self-reading support system being particularly notable.These changes better reflect the educational concept of developing students' independent reading skills in the curriculum standards,and further strengthen the "three-in-one" reading model.The scientific and rational use of reading support systems can facilitate effective teaching and learning for both teachers and students.This article takes the self-reading text support system as the object of study,explores its writing features and use value,and investigates the specific circumstances of teachers and students in its use,proposing corresponding solution strategies for the problems that arise in its use,with a view to better implementing the important intentions of the textbook editors and making the self-reading text support system most useful.This paper mainly discuess from four parts.The first part uses the literature research method to summarise the current state of research,and explains the origins,significance and methodology of this topic.The second part first explains the concepts of 'self-reading texts' and 'reading assistance systems',then analyses the principles of the use of selfreading text assistance systems and their components,and concludes with a summary of the features and values of self-reading text assistance systems.The third part uses questionnaires and data analysis to sort out the current situation of the use of the selfreading text aid system and to analyse the problems and reasons for its use.The fourth part explores strategies for the use of reading assistance systems.The following four aspects are discussed: studying the reading aid system to improve lesson preparation;exploring the reading aid system to bring into play the functions of each element;relying on the reading aid system to enrich reading teaching activities;and guiding students to use the reading aid system for independent reading.
