Objective: To explore the effect of functional training based on motor development on the physical quality, gross motor and sensory integration ability of5-6 year old children,to promote the comprehensive and healthy development of children, and to enrich the content of children's motor development. Methods: Randomly selected 101 children aged 5-6 years from the No.2Kindergarten in Jinnan District of Tianjin and No.16 Kindergarten in Hexi District of Tianjin as the research objects,50 children in the control group(26 male children,24 female children),and the experimental group 51 people(25 male children,26 female children). The experimental group underwent 12-week functional training based on motor development, while the control group continued the kindergarten physical education program. Before and after the experiment, the two groups of children were tested for gross motor development test(TGMD-2),physical fitness test(infant part of the National Physical Fitness Standard Manual)and sensory integration ability test(children's sensory integration ability development scale). Results: Physical fitness test:(1)Except for the 10 m reentry run(P<0.01),there was no significant improvement in the scores of the other five tests in the control group compared with those before the intervention(P>0.05);(2)The children in the experimental group stood for long jump, walking balance beam, tennis long throw, sitting forward flexion,10-meter reentry running and double-leg continuous jumping performance were improved to varying degrees compared with those before intervention(P<0.05 and P<0.01);(3)After intervention, all subjects in the experimental group The items test scores were better than those of the control group, and there were significant differences in walking balance beam and sitting forward flexion(P<0.05 and P<0.01);(4)The joint flexibility of female children was better than that of male children(P<0.01).Gross motor development test:(1)Compared with pre-intervention,the children in the control group had higher displacement scores(P<0.05),but decreased control scores(P<0.05),but there was no significant change in gross motor scores(P>0.05);(2)Compared with those before the intervention, the total scores of the children in the experimental group of displacement movements, control movements and gross movements were significantly improved(P < 0.01).Compared with the control group, the total score of gross motor and gross motor skills was significantly different(P<0.01);(4)The movement skills of male children were better than those of female children(P<0.05),and the control movement skills of female children were better than those of male children(P<0.05).Sensory integration ability test:(1)The vestibular function, tactile defense, proprioception and learning ability of the children in the control group were not significantly improved compared with those before the intervention(P>0.05);(2)The children in the experimental group had three other items except proprioception. The sensory integration ability was significantly improved compared with that before the intervention(P<0.01);(3)After the intervention, the experimental group scored better than the control group in all items, and the other three sensory integration abilities were significantly higher than the control group except the learning ability.Sexual improvement(P<0.05 and P<0.01);(4)The vestibular function and learning ability of female children were better than those of male children(P<0.05).Conclusion: The functional training based on the basic movement development content and movement essentials of 5-6-year-old children has a good effect on promoting children's physical fitness, gross movement and sensory integration ability.
