With the "double reduction" policy put forward,teachers and students are facing new opportunities and challenges,comprehensive learning is becoming more and more important.Junior middle school is the key period for students to form all kinds of abilities.However,according to the actual classroom survey,the field of "Comprehensive Exploration" has not been paid attention to in junior middle school art class.STEAM education is a new concept of science,technology,engineering,art,mathematics and so on.It connects the knowledge through the project-based learning.Combining theory with practice,this research tries to find the chance of integration between STEAM and "Synthesis",and provides a new way to improve the quality of art teaching in junior high school.This research is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The contents are as follows:First,the introduction,focusing on the reason,significance,ideas,methods of this topic and the current development of STEAM education at home and abroad,followed by the main text,the feasibility of STEAM concept and "comprehensive exploration" field curriculum development,STEAM concept and "comprehensive exploration" field curriculum development program,the practice of STEAM concept classes and traditional classes,as well as practical research problems and suggestions.Comparing the practice of STEAM class with that of traditional class is the focus of this study.Different teaching modes are adopted in the two classes by experimental method.Through the comparison of the works and the analysis of the questionnaire after class,the results show that The idea of STEAM is beneficial to the development of "synthesis and exploration" of art in junior middle school,to the improvement of traditional art teaching mode,to the development of students' comprehensive ability and to the improvement of teachers' comprehensive quality.The last part is the analysis of the problems in the experimental research and the prospect of the future development of STEAM education.
