In recent years, extreme weather, rising temperature, melting glaciers and other climate and environmental changes have continuously attracted people’s attention, which makes them increasingly concerned about the living environment of human beings.Based on this, the source text of this translation report is selected from the book A Bright Future published by Joshua S.Goldstein in 2019.It mainly introduces the technologies and methods adopted by some developed countries, such as Sweden and France,in the world in the face of climate and environmental change. The current climate change and new problems facing the world are also discussed. In order to have a better understanding of these new methods and introduce them to those who are interested in climate change, the translator selected Chapters 3-6 of this book for translation practice, which mainly describe the definition of decarbonization and measures taken by some developed countries, like Sweden,to cope with climate and environmental changes in the hope of providing some insights for those who are interested in this topic or are doing related research. This source text is an informative text and dynamic equivalence theory is employed to guide this practice. To achieve content equivalence and form equivalence, and accurately convey the information in source text, the translator explored different translation methods. For example, split translation, conversion and recast were used at the lexical, syntactic and textual level respectively.
