A Translation Practice Report Of TikTok Boom Based On The CEA Framework

The source text Tik Tok Boom is a business analysis book worthy of translating as it attempts to analyze the reasons behind the business success of the Tik Tok from the perspective of a foreign journalist.The business analysis is an informatinal text and a business text,so the content of the selected text is in some degrees specialized,but the target readers are not limited to professionals.Therefore,the translation difficulty of this kind of text is that the translator needs to ensure the professionalism of the translation while considering the readability of the text in the translation process.In order to strike a balance between professionalism and readability,the author adopts the "Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation"(CEA)framework proposed by Professor Li Changshuan to guide the translation practice and summarize the translation methods.Based on the three dimensions of the CEA framework,the translator summarizes the following main translation strategies through the analysis of translation cases: 1)read and analyze the source text critically,make use of professional,background,cultural and linguistic logic knowledge to deepen the understanding of the source text and rewrite it appropriately on this basis;2)make full use of the Chinese verb dominance,rhetorical advantage and culturally loaded words,and adopt the translation method of domestication to improve the readability of the translated text;3)use translation methods such as addition,negation and reconstruction to improve the fluency of the information in the text,thus improving the quality of the target text.The summarized translation methods also provide certain reference for similar business analysis text translation in the future.
