With the increasing trend of mass migration and family migration in China,a large number of migrant children has emerged.Current studies mostly analyze the difficulties faced by migrant children in learning and living, cultural adaptation and social integration in cities and the corresponding solutions. However, these studies are all from the perspective of problems, which not only negatively label migrant children, but also ignore the importance of giving play to their initiatives and advantages.Family resilience is a positive strength that enables families to overcome difficulties and survive long-term adversity by stimulating their resilience potential and mobilizing internal and external resources in times of crisis. This provides a new explanatory perspective to answer the question "Why can some families of migrant children adapt well to the same adversity and help migrant children grow up healthily?".In addition, the focus of the current new family welfare policy construction lies in that the state not only needs to provide basic social welfare for family members, but more importantly, strengthen the social protection function of the family itself and promote the construction of family capacity. Therefore, from the perspective of "positive advantages",this study explores the cultivation approaches to promote the family resilience of migrant children, and is committed to putting forward policy suggestions for the capacity building of migrant children families.Based on the ecosystem theory, this study focuses on the core issue of how to improve the family resilience of migrant children families from the perspectives of family and community.Through qualitative research methods such as participatory observation and indepth interview, this study conducted a survey in L Community,Longgang District,Shenzhen city,Guangdong Province, where the migrant population lives.A total of Twenty-five people, including migrant children, migrant children’s parents, staff of community organizations, were interviewed and recorded, and 6 families were selected as in-depth case studies. The results are as follows:(1)based on Walsh’s classic definition, the family resilience level is measured from three aspects: family belief system, family organization and family communication. It is found that the family resilience of migrant children is generally at a low level of imbalance. The specific characteristics are negative family beliefs, disorder of family organization and poor family communication.(2)The barriers of China’s household registration system, the marginalized living space and the fragile and disorderly family system are the main reasons leading to the imbalance of family resilience of migrant children.(3)In the process of reconstructing family resilience, community and family play an important role in enhancing family belief, reshaping family organization and promoting family communication. To be specific, establishing positive family beliefs and educational objectives as well as the practice of "self appreciation" can promote migrant families to look positively to the future and grow up in adversity. The close connection between husband and wife and the flexible adjustment of family structure are conducive to coping with difficulties, furthermore, the online and offline community mutual assistance network plays an important role in relieving family pressure. The construction of virtual space through mobile media can promote communication and sharing among family members, and deal with family contradictions and conflicts through the acquisition of parenting knowledge and the intervention of community organizations.(4)Finally,three suggestions are put forward: from the institutional level, the top-level design should be strengthened from the aspects of education support, child care and protection of women’s rights;at the community level,a family-centered community support system should be built;at the family level,we should attach importance to the development of family development.
