Research On The Development Of Archives Volunteer Service Based On CA And SA Projects

The connotation of volunteer service is the spirit of dedication,love,mutual assistance and progress.As an important part of the socialist core values,advocating volunteer service and carrying forward the spirit of volunteer service reflects the spirit and value pursuit of contemporary China.Archives volunteer service refers to the public welfare behavior of public individuals or organizations voluntarily contributing personal time,skills,knowledge,resources,etc.to participate in the archives cause.From the perspective of public participation in archives volunteer service,this article summarizes the behavior of the public extensive participation in archival crowdsourcing projects and contributing to the archives cause,and sorts out the development process of archives volunteer service at home and abroad from three different dimensions.From the appearance level of the time dimension,the archives volunteer service started from the early stage of exploration in the late 20 th century,and entered the stage of rapid development from the beginning of the 21 st century to today in the 2020 s.In terms of the connotation of the target dimension,the purpose of carrying out archives volunteer services has realized the transition from assisting archives work to focusing on public education;in terms of the practical aspect of the reform dimension,the development of archives volunteer services has changed from physical to virtual and online.Going down to the online,the future archives volunteer service will be more efficient,the service scope will be wider,and the participating groups will be more diverse.From the "Citizen Archivist" project(Referred to as "CA")of the National Archives of the United States to the "Sheng Xuanhuai Archives Transcription Project"(Referred to as "SA")of the Shanghai Library,they are all practical examples of the public’s extensive participation in the volunteer service of archives through the Internet.Based on the investigation and analysis of these two cases,through the questionnaire survey and data analysis on the willingness of the public to participate in the archives volunteer service in my country,the development of the archives volunteer service in the cases can be used for reference,and then optimize the archives volunteer service in my country development path,hoping to put forward useful suggestions for the theoretical and practical development of archives volunteer service in my country,help the development and utilization of archives information resources,and make archives management move towards archives governance in the future.
