After a renewed reformation of curriculum,there has been a comprehensive innovation among the high school political textbooks.Meanwhile,the newest textbook,“Politics and the Rule of Law” makes itself essential to assist senior high school students to have a sense of political consciousness as well as to foster the concepts of rule of law.The comprehensive renewal of teaching material system requires the improvement and innovation of teaching methods,which matters a lot to new curriculum reform.The “Ideological and Political Curriculum Standard for Senior High Schools(2017 edition,revised in 2020)” points out in its implementation suggestions that “In order to cultivate students core accomplishment,case teaching should be optimized and comprehensive teaching method of creating situation should be adopted.” Therefore,teachers use case teaching method to teach “Politics and the Rule of Law”,and create a classroom situation through cases related to the teaching content,which makes the advantages of “Politics and the Rule of Law” to be so fully utilized that helps to efficiently improve the effectiveness of classroom teaching.This paper analyses the problems and causes of case teaching method in the practical teaching of “Politics and the Rule of Law” through the study of the application of case teaching method in “Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school,putting forward corresponding countermeasures which makes the application of case teaching method more effective and targeted.The paper is divided into four parts:Part One: An overview of related theories applied by case teaching method in “Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school,respectively giving a definition to case teaching method,the theoretical basis of case teaching in “Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school and the characteristics embodied in case teaching in “Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school.Part Two: An overview to the feasibility and significance of case teaching method in“Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school,consisting of the analysis of both them which provides a foundation for the analysis and demonstration of the effectiveness of the case teaching method.Part Three: An investigation and analysis of the current situation of the application of case teaching method in “Politics and the Rule of Law” in senior high school.Through investigation and analysis,the main problems are as follows: lack of hierarchy in case design,improper evaluation of case teaching,low participation of students in class,unsatisfactory classroom effect of case teaching.The reasons for the problems include teachers’ ability to use case teaching to be improved,students’ awareness and ability to participate in case learning to be inadequate,and the conditions of case teaching in schools to be improved.Part Four: Countermeasures of case teaching method utilized in “Politics and Rule of Law”in senior high school.This paper puts forward corresponding suggestions for improvements from the aspects of teachers’ teaching ability,students’ learning consciousness and ability,school teaching conditions and so on.And in the application of countermeasures combined with“Politics and the Rule of Law” part of the classroom teaching design analysis,trying to help front-line teachers improve the ability of using case teaching method,so that the case teaching method is better applicable to the teaching of political thought in high school.
