| China’s basic education has undergone significant changes in the past 40 years,and the objectives of the secondary school curriculum have evolved from "double basic" objectives to "three-dimensional" objectives,and then to the "core literacy" objectives that are being actively promoted nowadays.This requires physics educators to actively consider and continuously explore more effective teaching methods and strategies that are compatible with the core competencies of physics in their teaching practice.In this paper,in the educational context of comprehensively enhancing students’ core literacy in the subject,we start from understanding the current situation of teaching the laws of physics in secondary schools,analyze the maladjustments in the process of teaching the laws of physics,propose corresponding improvement teaching strategies,and demonstrate them with typical classroom teaching cases in order to provide references for improving the effectiveness of teaching the laws of physics.This paper includes six parts.The first part is the introduction,which outlines the background of the study,the progress of domestic and international research around core literacy development and the effectiveness of teaching physics laws under the concept of core literacy,and the significance,content and methods of this study.The second part provides a preliminary identification of the concepts of core literacy in physics,teaching physics laws,and teaching effectiveness under the concept of core literacy,and sorts out the theoretical foundations on which this study is mainly based,such as cognitive constructivism,contextual learning theory,and lifelong education theory.The third part provides a statistical analysis of the current status of teaching effectiveness of secondary school physics laws through questionnaires,interviews with teachers and students in the internship schools and classroom recordings,and clarifies the problems and deficiencies in secondary school physics teaching at present.The fourth part proposes several teaching strategies to improve the effectiveness of teaching the laws of secondary school physics from the perspectives of four major elements:physical concepts,scientific thinking,scientific inquiry,and scientific attitudes and responsibilities,and addresses the above-mentioned teaching problems.The fifth part is a new teaching design of "Lever" and "Coulomb’s Law" based on the proposed teaching strategies,as an example of the application of teaching strategies.Finally,a brief review and outlook of this study are presented. |
