The Report on The Development of Human Resources in China mentions that "we always attach importance to the training of human resources from ethnic minorities".The training of talents of ethnic minorities is an important part of China’s education and an inherent requirement of national development and national unity.On the one hand,ethnic minority talents cultivation has the national macro guidance,minority students in college have gained some policy support and care,on the other hand,the existing research and practice shows that minority university students in the learning process did not give full play to their subject consciousness,academic problems need to be concerned.Autonomous learning ability is the premise for college students to complete their studies and enter the society.The cultivation and improvement of autonomous learning ability of minority college students is of great and far-reaching significance to the future development of individuals,national rejuvenation and common progress of the nation.Using the autonomous learning ability tool compiled by Zhu Zude,767 college students(286 ethnic minority students)from five universities including Nanjing University in Jiangsu Province were randomly selected as the research objects to conduct empirical investigation and research to explore the current status of autonomous learning ability of ethnic minority college students in mainland universities.This paper analyzes the differences and causes between the autonomous learning ability of ethnic minority students and han students in mainland colleges and universities,and then puts forward countermeasures and suggestions.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The autonomous learning ability of ethnic minority college students is generally at the medium level,with certain awareness and tendency of autonomous learning ability,but there are still some problems in the formulation of learning plan,monitoring and evaluation of learning effect,and self-regulation,which can be further improved;(2)the ethnic minorities and han college students’ autonomous learning ability significant differences in self adjusting dimension,and the han students’ ability of autonomous learning situation slightly better,ethnic groups of autonomous learning ability on the variables such as gender,grade,professional categories,there is no obvious difference,father’s occupation and mother level of education also have influence on their autonomous learning ability;(3)Ethnic minority college students have a certain sense of self-planning,but their learning goals and plans are not consistent with their actual situation,and they lack practical ability in implementing plans,self-monitoring and effect feedback adjustment.Ethnic minority college students’ study time allocation is not reasonable,and they lack the consciousness of rational allocation and utilization of learning resources.The main reasons for the poor autonomous learning ability of minority college students are as follows: First Lack of learning motivation;Second,lack of choice and application of learning strategies;Third,low self-efficacy;Fourth,it is difficult to adapt to the internal culture and environment of universities.For minority college students’ autonomous learning problems and causes of the problems existing,from local governments,colleges,teachers and students personal four aspects put forward corresponding proposals,minority college students’ autonomous learning ability to improve all aspects of support and need to continue to practice,to better guide the minority college students’ autonomous learning practice,It provides basic guarantee for ethnic minority college students to improve their autonomous learning ability.
