The geography curriculum standard(2017 Edition)clearly points out that we should pay attention to the integration of geography and other disciplines,which puts forward new requirements for students’ interdisciplinary abilities such as comprehensive quality,innovative spirit and practical ability,as well as teachers’ educational ideas and teaching methods.Steam education concept is a teaching concept based on steam discipline and solving real problems based on real situations;Geographical practice is an activity course that allows students to solve geographical problems in real situations.Therefore,this study designs geographical practice activities based on steam education concept,in order to optimize the teaching of geographical practice activities in senior high school,promote the improvement of students’ innovation ability and practical ability,and improve students’ geographical core literacy.This study uses the method of literature analysis to define the concepts related to steam education concept and geographical practice activities.It is considered that steam education concept is a new education concept based on subject knowledge,project practice as the main form and life problems as the guidance,and steam education concept is applied to geographical practice activities.Through the questionnaire survey,it is found that there are some problems in senior high school geography teaching at this stage,such as less opportunities to carry out geography practice activities,lack of systematic integration of interdisciplinary knowledge,and poor application of steam education concept,and the causes are analyzed.This study discusses the content structure of geographical practice activities based on the concept of steam education,and combs the field of steam knowledge based on the classification and design of high school natural geography curriculum content based on the application mode of steam education in view of the shortage of teaching resources and the lack of systematic integration of interdisciplinary knowledge.According to the sorted teaching content,select the most common application mode for teaching design and implement teaching.Finally,based on the theory of multiple intelligences and the nature of activities,the evaluation scale is designed to test the teaching effect of this activity and find the problems.The results of this study show that it is feasible to apply steam education concept to the teaching of geography practical activities in senior high school,which is consistent with the comprehensive and practical characteristics of geography,and is conducive to improving students’ Geography core literacy.Through combing the teaching content and teaching practice of physical geography in senior high school,it is found that the practical activities of Geography in senior high school based on steam education concept can stimulate students’ subjective initiative in learning geography.Through the interview with front-line teachers,we know that teachers generally recognize high school geography practice activities based on steam education concept.However,there are also deficiencies,such as higher requirements for teachers’ ability,teaching resources and students’ learning ability.Therefore,the content and organization form of activities need to be further improved.
