Objective: Investigate the influence of parents on the participation behavior of middle school students.Analysis of the relationship between parental motivation and parent-related variables and factors affecting high school students' participation behavior will determine the degree of impact between the variables.Create a theoretical model for parents to promote secondary school students to participate in physical exercise. And testing two hypothetical models through structural equation modeling. Methods: Three junior high schools in Jiangsu Province were randomly selected for this study, and parental support scales, motivation scales, planned behavior scales, and sports activity scales were issued.A total of 252 junior high school students and their parents were investigated.Descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, investigation of the amount of junior high school students' movement and the relationship between the research variables were used to examine the variables of the junior high school students. The predictive power of exercise participation behavior;the structural equation model is used to perform path analysis on the hypothesis model(P-C model). Results:In the father's regression model, the father's motivation, planned behavior and participation behavior have the same degree of influence, followed by the student's self-determination motivation. In the mother's regression model, the mother's motivation is not the most affected by the students' participation in physical exercise. The degree of influence is second only to the relevant factors of the planned behavior, followed by the students' self-determination motivation and the mother's support also affect the students' participation behavior to varying degrees. From the structural equations, the father's motivation and support explain a total of49% of the variance of the student's self-determination motivation for participating in physical exercise. The mother's motivation and support explain a total of 47% of the variance of the student's self-determination motivation for physical exercise. The five factors supported by parents have different influences on students' self-determination motivation.Parents' physical activity models and physical activity preferences have a greater impact on student motivation. The motivation and support from parents can predict the motivation of students' participation in physical exercise, and then influence the participation intention through planning behavior, and ultimately affect the participation behavior. The established father P-C model and the mother P-C model accounted for 29% of the variance of the participation behavior of junior high school students.Multi-group analysis showed that the model did not differ in the gender of the parents. Conclusion: Parents' self-determination motivation and parental support have a significant positive correlation with the motivation of junior high school students' physical exercise participation.Parents' self-determination motivation and parental support were significantly positively correlated with the motivation, attitude, subjective norms, behavior control, participation intention, and participation behavior of junior high school students. The motivation and support of parents' influence on students' motivation and behavioral control in physical exercise are slightly higher than the influence of parents' motivation and support on students' attitudes, subjective norms, intentions and behaviors. The fathers motivation is slightly higher than the mother ' s motivation to participate in the behavior. The mother's support is slightly higher than the influence of the father's support on the participatory behavior. The P-C model of the constructed father and mother is not statistically different, and the model can explain to some extent the influence of parents on the participation behavior of junior high school students.
