Research On The Cultivation Of Elderly Environmental Protection Volunteers In Urban Communities Through Group Work Intervention From The Perspective Of Strength

Voluntary service is an important symbol of social civilization and progress,as well as an important means to participate in grassroots social governance and promote the modernization of national governance system and governance capacity.Carrying out community environmental protection voluntary service can not only improve residents’ sense of gain and satisfaction,but also promote the ecological civilization construction of the whole city.Under the background of population aging,it has become the consensus of the society to tap the potential of the elderly,develop the human resources of the elderly,give full play to the advantages of the elderly,and realize the purpose of the elderly.Retired elderly people have sufficient leisure time,rich work and life experience,calm and considerate personality,and good health.Based on this reality,guiding the elderly to participate in community environmental voluntary service can not only enrich the retirement life of the elderly,enhance the satisfaction and happiness of the elderly,but also effectively utilize the advantages and resources of the elderly.Address the negative impact of aging.Therefore,it is an effective way to support the elderly to participate in the cause of volunteer service,encourage them to continue to play their value,and practice the positive aging view to develop the service service and improve their volunteer service ability.Based on the field research in Y Community in Beijing,this study learned that the elderly environmental voluntary service in Y community mainly has the following problems through semi-structured interviews,questionnaires and field visits to the elderly volunteers and community workers: Unclear cognition of volunteer spirit,unclear cognition of self-role,lack of environmental protection knowledge and skills,lack of knowledge and skills of activity planning and lack of teamwork ability;Through research and analysis,it is found that the above problems are mainly caused by the following aspects: poor sense of responsibility of volunteers,lack of learning opportunities and resources,lack of cohesion of volunteer team,lack of incentive system of community volunteers and lack of skills training of community volunteers.In view of the lack of ability of the elderly to participate in environmental protection volunteer service in Y community,the author adopts the method of group work and carries out eight group activities to enhance the service awareness of the elderly environmental protection volunteers and improve their volunteer service ability.Through practical research,it is found that the intervention of group work in volunteer cultivation is effective,and the service ability of the elderly environmental protection volunteers is significantly enhanced.Moreover,the linkage service mode of "social worker+ elderly environmental volunteers" has certain feasibility.
