The selected novels in the unified edition of the high school Chinese textbook are both beautiful and suitable for teaching,which contains the importance of humanistic spirit cultivation and the care of contemporary cultural values.Teaching and learning well is of great benefit to teachers’ personal growth and students’ learning ability.However,through investigation and research,the author found that there are still many problems in the teaching of modern and contemporary novels in high schools.Based on the requirements for the teaching of high school novels in the Standards for General High School Chinese Curriculum(2017 Edition and 2020 Revision),this paper takes selected texts of modern and contemporary novels in the Chinese textbook of high schools as an example,faces these existing problems from the perspective of core language literacy,and explores the teaching strategies of modern and contemporary novels in high schools.This paper is divided into four parts,the first part,the introduction,mainly explains the origin,research significance,current research status and research methods;The second part is an overview of the connotation and related theoretical issues of high school modern and contemporary novels from the perspective of language core literacy,high school modern and contemporary novel reading teaching,and language core literacy,as well as an analysis of the selected texts of Chinese modern and contemporary novels in high school language.The third part is the author’s investigation and analysis,taking the teachers and students of Zhaoyuan County No.1 Middle School where the author is interning as the survey objects,conducting a questionnaire survey on the current situation of teaching and learning of modern and contemporary novels,and finding out the problems and analyzing the reasons;The fourth part is to put forward corresponding strategies for the above problems under the guidance of language core literacy,and specifically put forward the following four aspects: study the language of novels,pay attention to language construction and use;Reasonably carry out thinking training to improve students’ thinking quality;Highlight the literary nature of novels and attach importance to the cultivation of students’ aesthetic appreciation ability;Excavate the cultural connotation of novels,pay attention to cultural understanding and inheritance.
