With the advance of the new curriculum reform,the "Historical Materials Reading" module has been added to the high school history elective course,emphasis on the cultivation of students’ historical reading comprehension ability,highlighting the important status of historical materials.As a carrier for recording historical information,newspapers and periodicals reflect social phenomenon occurred at that time and provide relative credible evidence,which can help create teaching situations and shape emotional values while cultivating the awareness of positivism.Its position in the teaching of the history of the War of Resistance is evident because of its unique role,which meets the needs of the teaching of the history of the War of Resistance.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is found that in the teaching of the history of the War of Resistance against Japan in senior high schools,teachers had problems in understanding,selecting and using historical materials in newspapers and periodicals,such as low attention to historical materials in newspapers and periodicals,improper way of selecting historical materials,and failure to use historical materials in combination with students’ learning conditions.And the main reasons are as follows: it is quite difficult to select historical materials in newspapers and periodicals,its application doesn’t go far enough,and teachers’ understanding is relatively shallow.On this basis,the core of this paper lies in proposing corresponding strategies,mainly from the understanding,selection and application of historical materials in newspapers and periodicals.First,teachers should attach importance of newspaper and periodical historical materials,dig up its value deeply.Second,on the basis of broadening the way of collecting historical materials,teachers should choose appropriate newspapers and periodicals in the light of the learning situation.Third,when using the historical materials of newspapers and periodicals,teachers should always focus on the students’ core quality and use different types of historical materials of newspapers and periodicals in depth.According to the above strategies,the teaching of newspapers and periodicals was attempted and reflected on the course "From Partial War of Resistance to Comprehensive War of Resistance" to verify the rationality of the strategies.
