As the hope of the country and the nation,adolescents and children have attracted the attention of all sectors of society,but due to family economic conditions,one or both parents suffering from diseases,their own diseases and other factors,they are forced to fall into difficulties and become children in difficulty.At present,the number of children in distress in rural areas in China is still relatively large,and the situation they face is more complicated,and caring for children in distress is not only the responsibility of the government and society,but also the responsibility of the social work profession.Affected by family and their own diseases,children in distress in rural areas often have low self-esteem,are timid,do not show confidence in interpersonal communication,and lack effective channels for learning interpersonal knowledge and skills,so they need the intervention of professional social work to help them improve their interpersonal skills.Based on the experience of social workers in the M community social work agency in X City,this study collected relevant data through interview methods and participatory observation methods,learned about the current situation of interpersonal communication among children in rural distress in M community,analyzed the potential causes,and determined their needs through in-depth interviews,and used group work as a basis to intervene,aiming to improve their interpersonal skills.Focusing on this theme,based on group dynamics and social learning theory,six group activities were planned and carried out on the themes of self-understanding,unity and cooperation,emotional control,interpersonal conflicts and other themes,and built a platform for group members to support and help each other by peers,emphasizing the sense of participation and experience of group members,improving self-awareness in the interaction of group members,learning and mastering interpersonal skills,so as to build and enhance their self-confidence and improve interpersonal relationships.Finally,after evaluating and analyzing the process and results of the group,it is found that the intervention of the group work has obvious help to improve the interpersonal skills of rural children in difficulty,and has achieved certain results and has practical significance.In addition,the effectiveness and shortcomings of group work intervention in the interpersonal skills of children in distress were reflected,and suggestions were put forward in a targeted manner,hoping to provide reference for social work intervention in the improvement of interpersonal skills of children in difficult rural areas.
