| Since the reform and opening up,a special group of Chinese migrant workers was born with the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization.Restricted by various conditions,it is difficult for them to bring their children to live with them.Most of their children have no choice but to stay in the countryside and become left-behind children.Due to the geographical location,historical and cultural background,economic development level of minority areas,parents’ education level and so on,the educational environment and educational resources of rural left-behind children in minority areas are at a disadvantage.The educational problem of rural left-behind children is more prominent.The healthy growth of rural left-behind children in minority areas relates to the development of minority areas and the construction of socialist harmonious society,and directly affects social stability and economic development of China.How to solve the education dilemma of rural left-behind children in minority areas and how to make local education develop in high quality are worth thinking and exploring by the public.Following the research idea of "question raising,problem analyzing and problem solving",this paper adopts social capital theory,Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and educational equity theory.Using literature research method and investigation method,this paper takes rural left-behind children in four middle schools in P County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as research objects to investigate the current educational situation of rural left-behind children.It is found that there are some problems in the education of left-behind children in rural areas.The main problems are: low learning initiative,poor self-discipline,negative attitude and serious polarization of academic performance;parents’ insufficient care for their children and parent-child interaction weakened;the awareness of family education is weak,and the way of education adopted by parents is unreasonable;teachers do not have adequate guidance awareness for left-behind children,after-school services in rural areas lag behind,and schools do not pay attention to the moral and psychological education of left-behind children;education policies for left-behind children introduced by the local government have not been fully completed,children are addicted to games and their learning efficiency is low.On the basis of above discovery,this paper makes a rational analysis of the causes of rural left-behind children’s education problems,mainly as follows: first,the students are in a special period,having poor self-management;second,the guardians have low education level and outdated education concepts,emphasising on raising children rather than education and the family structures are incomplete;third,the system of school are incomplete.In addition,the infrastructure and the overall quality of teachers of rural schools needs to be improved;Fourth,students are addicted to online games and short video platforms.Additionally,neither local governments pay enough attention to the education of left-behind children,nor village committees carry out their management functions.Finally,based on the above research,this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the four aspects,including left-behind children themselves,families,schools and society,so as to narrow the gap between rural and urban education,promoting the quality and balanced development of compulsory education. |
