Research On The Development Strategies Of Social Work Agencies From The Perspective Of Resource Dependence

Under the background of the current establishment of The Central Social Work Department,the development of social work has attracted more attention from the state and the people.However,in the context of the government ’s purchase of social work services,the resource support system required in the development of social work institutions is relatively simple,there is a shortage of resources,and it is easy to rely on the main body providing resources,which is not conducive to the development of social work institutions.From the perspective of resource dependence,this study analyzes the resources of social work institutions,explores the interaction between institutions and external resources when acquiring resources,and tries to refine the development strategies of social work institutions.In this study,a comprehensive H social work organization in X city was selected as the research object.Using the research method of field investigation and the theory of resource dependence,the resource allocation within the organization and the resource dependence outside the organization were analyzed.At the same time,taking the five social linkage project as an example,the resource interaction between the organization and other organizations in the process of carrying out services was explored to analyze the resource dilemma of social work institutions and the response strategies of institutions,and further summarize or prospect the development strategies of social work institutions.The research found that H social work agency has the following resource dilemma:shortage of capital resources,dependence resources,loss of human resources,etc.Faced with these difficulties,social work institution responded to the lack of funds by "broadening sources of income" and reducing expenditure,strengthening relationship building,and recruiting local social workers to reduce brain drain.In the short term,the response strategy of H organization has certain results,but value bias and goal replacement occur in the process.Among them,"broadening sources of income" and reducing expenditure evolved into excessive savings affecting professional services,relationship building turned into emphasis on relationship and lost a certain degree of autonomy,and recruitment of local social workers made the problem of insufficient specialization prominent.These response strategies make the development of social work organizations gradually deviate from the values of social work.Therefore,according to the response strategy of H social work agency in X City and under the guidance of the resource dependence theory,this study extracted the development strategy of social work agency: in view of the shortage of financial resources,the field of social work service can be expanded and indirectly marketized,so as to increase the source of funds;For the dependence on relational resources,professional resources can be developed to enhance the core competitiveness of the organization,so as to reduce the dependence on relational resources.In the face of the loss of human resources,local social workers can be strengthened by professional means to maintain staff stability and professionalism.The strategies extracted from specific examples in this study may provide certain reference for Chinese social work organizations when they are faced with resource difficulties,and jointly promote the development of social work organizations.
