With the development of the policy of reform and opening up, because of the economic structure adjustment, enterprise reform, and population structure changes,demand changes of residents and so on,the economic structure and social structureand had changedalot in China, way of the social management and social organizations in China’s transformation has been put forward on higher requirements, an urgent need to transform government functions for livelihood of the people is required, it has brought great opportunities for the development of social work and social work institutions social work, institutions are also springing up rapidly. Under the background of the social environment and the development of our country, some social work institutions rely on government, having the strong characteristics of the official color; also some folk social work institutions rely on public bidding, government purchase services, foundation projects, they have weak relationship with the government.With the different resources relying relations between organizations, also this dependence relations presents different development characteristics on the institutions.Different resource dependence interaction path are good for the exploration on the social work institutions, we need to keep on summing up their development advantages and problems and experience to promote the development of social work institutions. Through qualitative research methods, this paper will try to campare and analyse the government relying institutions and the root institutions from the resource dependence perspective, in order to explore the localization development path of work socialinstitutions in China.
