The information age has put forward new requirements for the cultivation of innovative talents.The maker education aimed at cultivating innovative ability has attracted extensive attention from domestic educators and front-line teachers,and the concept of maker education has been constantly integrated into junior middle school information technology classes.In this context,the teaching practice of information technology is of great significance.Aiming at cultivating students’ innovation ability,this study integrates the concept of maker education into the teaching practice of junior middle school information technology curriculum.First of all,by referring to domestic and foreign literature on maker education,innovation ability and Information Technology curriculum teaching,this paper clarifies the development context of Information Technology teaching research on innovation ability cultivation of junior high school students under the concept of maker education,understands the theoretical basis,defines the definition of maker education and innovation ability,and understands the current situation of junior high school Information Technology curriculum teaching through questionnaire survey and teacher interview.Secondly,the teaching design research of junior high school students’ innovation ability cultivation under the concept of maker education is carried out,and the teaching process of information technology under the concept of maker education is proposed.By referring to the curriculum standards of information technology in compulsory education and the curriculum and textbooks of Information Technology in Fujian Education version of junior middle school,the concept of maker education is integrated into the information technology classroom teaching of grade 8,and the teaching content of Information Technology in junior middle school is integrated and designed,including two units: I am a graphic Designer and Any Conversion of two-dimensional and three-dimensional.Draw hot air balloons,Zootopia,fireworks,astrology,zodiac signs,creative wallpaper,garbage sorting poster,draw three viewsimple pen and paper holder,unique vase,I am a water cup designer,3D Cars,a total of12 themes.Then,the experimental research of information technology curriculum teaching under the concept of maker education was carried out.Two parallel classes in the second grade of a middle school were selected to carry out educational experiment research.The teaching of information technology courses under the concept of maker education was carried out according to the teaching process of situation inspiration,project exploration,experience creation,sharing and communication,evaluation and reflection without affecting the normal teaching of the class.Finally,through the release of Williams creativity tendency scale,maker works evaluation form,student interviews,teacher interviews and other methods,collect relevant teaching experiment data,analyze the change of junior middle school students’ innovation ability,and further evaluate the learning effect of junior middle school information technology courses.The experimental results show that the innovation ability of students in the experimental class is significantly improved compared with that before the teaching experiment,the average value is increased by 23.30 points,and the P value is less than 0.05.The dimensions of innovation ability are significantly improved compared with the control class.Through the quantitative maker works evaluation table,the experimental class students’ works score higher than the control class.The results show that the practical teaching of information technology in junior middle school under the concept of maker education is conducive to the improvement of junior middle school students’ innovation ability.At the same time,although there are some deficiencies in this study,it has certain reference significance for the cultivation of students’ innovative ability in the information technology teaching in the stage of basic education.
