In recent years,with the continuous improvement of the social and economic level,the strengthening of the state’s emphasis on the development of sports,and the in-depth promotion of the concept of quality education,the state education department has proposed to implement the goal of all-round development to every student,thus basketball in primary schools has been developed significantly.Basketball is a popular sport for young people and has become an integral part of school physical education.It is not only an effective means of learning physical education and extracurricular exercise for students,but also one of the most important ways to develop their overall abilities,so it is extremely important to carry out an in-depth analysis and comprehensive evaluation of its implementation.Based on the physical and mental characteristics and development level of primary school students,some initial insights were formed through in-depth analysis and collation of relevant information on the current situation of basketball in primary schools in the existing literature,combined with the practical experience accumulated through years of work in primary school physical education.The research methods of literature,Delphi method,questionnaire survey and hierarchical analysis were mainly used to construct a scientific and effective evaluation index system applicable to primary school-based basketball courses in Nanjing.The study showed that the current school-based basketball programme in primary schools has problems such as the number of courses not meeting the standard,the teaching design not being detailed,the teaching objectives not being clear,the learning assessment not being perfect,and the parents and teachers not being supportive;the design and implementation of the learning assessment is not comprehensive and the assessment method is single.The main influencing factors are the lack of popularity of the school-based basketball programme,the lack of evaluation criteria and the change in the philosophy of schools and parents towards basketball.In response to these issues,a system of evaluation indicators was developed for the Nanjing primary school basketball programme,comprising three primary indicators,11 secondary indicators and 44 tertiary indicators.It is recommended that the teaching quality of the school-based basketball programme be improved by strengthening the professional training of physical education teachers;that the evaluation of the learning of the school-based basketball programme and the aggregation and analysis of individual student data be completed through regular testing of students’ physical fitness and the effectiveness of basketball learning by means of big data artificial intelligence algorithm research or mobile phone app electronic questionnaires;and that efforts be made to reverse,through analysis of national policies and lectures on physical education and health,the traditional perceptions of our youth and parents that belittle physical activity.
