| Employment is the essence of people’s life and the biggest living project.the employment problem has appealed wide attention from all sectors of society.The employment situation of a country is related to the healthy operation and development of the social economy.How to keep the employment stabilization of a country is a matter of great concern to both economists and economic policymakers.To study the employment situation of labor force and its influencing factors is of certain practical significance to enlarge the employment size and improve the quality of employment.This paper firstly studies and reviews the labor force employment related literature collected and compiled,based on which,the labor force employment situation is studied from three aspects: total labor force employment,labor force employment structure,and total population employment rate,and the influencing factors of the labor force employment situation are also elected from these three aspects,and the mechanism of the influencing factors on the labor force employment situation is illustrated.Secondly,the development status of total labor force employment,labor force employment structure and total population employment rate in China is summarized and described.Again,an substantiated analysis of the affecting factors of labor force employment status is conducted,based on the interprovincial panel data from 2000 to 2020,and the total labor force employment and employment structure influencing factors and their influencing effects are estimated in the full sample as well as in sub-regions using fixed effects regression methods,and then a comparative analysis of fixed effects regression and panel quantile regression is used to explore the total population employment rate at The impact effects of the influencing factors at various quartiles are explored.The main conclusions of this paper are:(1)In terms of total labor force employment,the regional differences in total labor force employment in China have been gradually declining in recent years,both total employment and its growth rate are on a decreasing trend.Fixed asset investment,economic growth,and industrial structure all promote the increase of total employment in the country and in each area.In contrast,per capita disposable income has a shock to the increase of total employment in the country as well as in the eastern and central regions.(2)From the side of labor force employment structure,this paper mainly researches from the viewpoint of labor force employment skill structure.At this stage,the education level of employed people is gradually increasing,but the employment skill structure still needs to be optimized;on the whole,technological progress,industrial structure,economic growth,and population dependency ratio will promote the optimization process of China’s employment skill structure,i.e.,promote the labor market’s employment demand for high-skilled labor force The demand for high-skilled labor in the labor market will increase.By region,technological progress will promote the optimization of the employment skill structure in the eastern and central regions while slowing down the pace of upgrading the employment skill structure in the northeastern region;increased investment in education will promote the improvement of the education level in each region and promote the optimization and upgrading of the employment skill structure,while the increased openness of foreign trade will inhibit the optimization of the employment skill structure in most regions of China;upgrading of industrial structure will promote the optimization and upgrading of the employment skill structure in the eastern and central The upgrading of industrial structure will promote the optimization and upgrading of employment skill structure in the eastern and central regions,while in the other two regions it is the opposite effect;economic growth and population dependency ratio will both promote the optimization of employment skill structure in the eastern region;(3)From the aspect of total population employment rate: the total population employment rate and labor participation rate have been showing a decreasing trend in recent years,and the pressure of labor force employment in China is still very high.Investment in education,natural population growth rate,economic growth,and industrial structure will all significantly increase the total population employment rate.The results of the panel quantile regression show that in regions with low employment rate of total population,the increase of employment rate is mainly influenced by the level of economic growth and investment in fixed assets.With the increase of regional employment rate,education investment,industrial structure,foreign trade openness,and technological progress also gradually have significant positive effects on the raise of total population employment rate,the effect changes with the change with the site. |
