The ’ Ordinary High School History Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)’(hereinafter referred to as the Curriculum Standards)issued by the Ministry of Education proposes that teachers should carry out teaching activities based on historical materials.Historical materials are an important basis for high school history teaching.How to better enable students to master knowledge and develop key abilities in the process of studying historical materials is a problem that needs to be deeply considered in today ’s history teaching.On the one hand,the " Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(I)" involves a large amount of knowledge and a wide range of coverage,which provides material and space for historical materials research activities.On the other hand,teachers are also facing the challenges of less class hours,tight time and heavy tasks.How to carry out effective historical materials research activities in high school history classrooms has become an urgent problem to be solved.This paper first defines the concept of historical materials study,clarifies the division of labor and status of teachers and students in historical materials study,divides the common historical materials in high school history teaching into six categories,and summarizes the significance of historical materials study activities to teaching and learning.Secondly,it investigates the current situation of historical materials study in high school history teaching,and finds that teachers need to improve their vision of selecting historical materials,their awareness of using historical materials,their ability to deal with historical materials and their guidance to students.Then,combined with the cases in the teaching practice of " Outline of Chinese and Foreign History(I)," this paper puts forward four strategies for carrying out historical materials research activities in high school history teaching,including determining the theme,selecting and processing historical materials,designing problems and evaluating research results,including all aspects of historical materials research activities.Finally,taking " the exploration of the national way out and the intensification of the aggression of the powers " as an example,the teaching design based on the study of historical materials is carried out,and the four strategies proposed are put into practice.This case can also be used as a reference for front-line teachers to carry out historical materials research activities.
