| The study of foreign educational history really took the fast lane after the discipline was restored and rebuilt in the early 1980 s.In the course of more than 40 years’ development,the foreign educational history has made great progress in both teaching and academic fields.In recent years,many scholars have discussed the development course and research status of foreign educational history,but they try to use qualitative research methods such as text analysis more often than visual charts.Therefore,based on the absence of quantitative research methods in the field of foreign educational history and the application prospect of quantitative analysis methods,this paper uses knowledge map software to draw visual images and tables,showing the development course of foreign educational history research.The purpose of this study is to explore the research basis and characteristics of each development stage,and look forward to the future research direction,so as to provide help for reflection and summary of foreign educational history research.This study broadly defines the achievements of foreign educational history research in China: it includes not only the research achievements of educational history circles on foreign educational history,but also the research achievements made by scholars in disciplines other than the first level of pedagogy,such as principles of pedagogy,curriculum and teaching theory,comparative pedagogy and higher education.Finally,a total of 1177 foreign educational history documents were selected from 27 educational CSSCI source journals.Import the data into VOSviewer and Cite Space,and generate visual charts such as co-occurrence map of authors,co-occurrence map of keywords,time zone map of keywords and emergent keywords,and measure,display,analyze and summarize the research data.On the basis of comprehensive reference to the research of many scholars,according to the data presentation and key historical events in this paper,this paper further subdivides the development stages of foreign educational history research into five development stages: the first stage is the reconstruction period(1980-1985).After the establishment of the National Education History Research Association,the foreign educational history circles are in ruins,and the older generation of foreign educational history scholars are in charge of the restoration and reconstruction of disciplines,and all studies are in the initial stage,laying a foundation for the rapid development of foreign educational history research in the future.The second stage was the exploration period(1986-1990).Due to the slow progress of research,some young scholars began to explore the basic theories of foreign educational history disciplines,and a hundred schools of thought contended for a time,further embodying the critical and reflective spirit of foreign educational history researchers;The third stage is the precipitation period(1991-1999).Thanks to the graduation of self-trained doctors,the research team has been constantly strengthened,and the research on foreign educational history has gained a sustained and stable development environment,which is in the stage of knowledge accumulation and expansion.The fourth stage is the development period(2000-2010).Since the beginning of the 21 st century,some scholars have pointed out that there is a huge crisis in the current study of foreign educational history.Under the coexistence of crisis and development,the time and space scope of the study of foreign educational history are both wider and the research field has been unprecedentedly developed.The fifth stage is the stable period(2011-2021).At this stage,the number of research achievements of foreign educational history has been continuously rising,and the research strength has been unprecedentedly strengthened.The theory and methods of foreign educational history research have been further matured,and are in line with international trends.After discussing the above five development periods respectively,this study summarizes the development characteristics and research trends of foreign educational history research,and puts forward corresponding suggestions.The development features show that the scale and quality of academic achievements are parallel,the influence of core authors is further expanded,and the research topics are further divergent;In the future research trend,the research content will open up a new research growth point based on the original topic,the research structure will pay more attention to the relationship between macro and micro,the overall historical view and the fragmented historical view,and the research methods will remain dynamic and open;In terms of development suggestions,we should actively take advantage of "new liberal arts",speed up the innovation of research methods,improve the personnel training system,build a research platform,and attach importance to the excavation and sharing of multilingual historical materials. |
